2017-18 BOOM Junior Olympic (JO) Tryouts

BOOM Volleyball is excited to start another JO season focused on empowering the players.  To start we are adjusting tryout dates to help promote an open tryout period as we believe players should have the option to try out for multiple clubs to see what fits best for them before making a decision.  As done in the past and with all JO clubs we will have tryouts for individuals (girls only) to be placed on a team, however we are also piloting a new Team tryout offering (boy or girl team) where you get to submit the team roster, select a level of commitment and try out as a team.

BOOM is committed to helping players throughout the state elevate their game.  We are very proud of the accomplishments and new innovative concepts we have started in Maine since we started five years ago.  We are proud to the be first and only club to bring a Maine team to the USAV Girls’ JO Championship.

BOOM is looking for the right players. Being coachable and a good team player paired with committed and skilled coaches contribute to making you and your team successful.   For those looking to play in college, we will help you maximize your exposure to college coaches. We can help develop a recruiting video.  We will utilize our staff network and experience throughout the collegiate community. This includes introductions to college coaches and giving you an inside look to the college recruitment practices and share what it takes to play at that level.

BOOM JO OFFERINGS:

Individual tryouts – this is the same as it has been in the past for all JO clubs whereas the player will try out and be placed on the team

Team tryout – we are piloting a new idea whereas you get to pick the team roster.  Do you want to play with your high school teammates or combine with another school so you can improve as a team for next season?  Maybe you want to put together an elite team and go to the USAV Girls’ JO Championship ?  Or maybe you are a fairly new or a have a group of boys looking to start in JO club? Teams should consist of 10-12 player and have all positions covered.  A team with the most compelling reason for why they should play as a team along with coach evaluation at the team tryout will be considered as a BOOM team.
